In part one of Where are the True Believers we touched on the flesh as being one of the ways that has brought us to a point in time where we are left to ask the question: Where are the True Believers? Do we ask this question just assuming the one asking the question is a true believer?
I recently asked my wife our we really walking in His ways, I mean really truly walking in His ways? I do believe that my family and I are walking in His ways, but I often ponder the thought of our we really walking in His ways? If you take a deep dive into the history of the Christian church, you will find that the Christian church has been being altered since the year 150A.D. It was during this time that worldly Christians in Alexandria and Rome began keeping Sunday as a holy day which was a practice in Mithraism. That’s only 117 years after our Messiah’s death and resurrection.
Eventually, when Constantine came to power he officially changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday. I only bring this point up to show that things for the Church and Christianity as a whole started to change not long after Yeshua walked this earth. Now over 2,000 years later the apostles would not even recognize the Christianity of today if they were alive. They would not recognize believers in Messiah because of their fruit and because of the influence of the world. Where has our desire gone to earnestly long to be like Him, forsaking all others as it were, and to seek first the kingdom.
In part one we made the statement:
Most live in grey areas because we’re afraid of rejection, uncomfortable and constrained to really walking in His ways and continue in the ways of this world. If we love the world, the love of the Father is not in us.
Do not love the world nor that which is in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1st John 2:15
We must come face to face with the question; Do I love the Father, or do I love the world, because you cannot have both. You friend must make your choice and you must choose wisely. The answer to the question is very simple but why do we struggle with an answer we already know? The reason we struggle is the flesh. We’re afraid to give up our pleasures, entertainment, materialism, our love for this life.
Where is a real desire to seek the kingdom and what does that look like? Yes, we can puff ourselves up with spiritual piety, but just as we discussed in part one the inside of our dish must be clean first. If my desire or direction in life is off course then the destination I’m seeking will be off course. I may think I’m on the narrow way riding first class, but I’m really stuck in the baggage terminal looking for the entrance gate.
Where are the people who really seek Him?
You really don’t hear about them anymore, unless you have a mega church! If you have a mega church , well then you must be doing something right, but the kingdom and the church are not a successful business that can be run by the CEO, board members, and project managers who work and toil on various projects that will gain the church bigger buildings, more T.V. slots, or the latest stage show. I mean in recent times a mega pastor called a 40 day fast from Target. Now I know, Target may have its issues and it’s probably best that people don’t shop there, but when are pastors going to call people to fast, pray, and repent of their ways, their sins! If I fast from Target, then I’ll head right on over to Wal-Mart or some other major chain. If Target is that bad, then stop shopping there period! It’s almost like we walk around with a mentality that we really don’t have sin, I mean I may go a little above the speed limit, but that doesn’t make me a bad driver. This type of spiritual mentality does not work in the kingdom and will not work on the day of judgement.
Where are the believers of generations past like the disciples and the early church fathers who were willing to suffer persecution and/or death for the gospel? There has been many through history. Let’s name a few:
William Tyndale – Tyndale’s translations were the first English Scriptures to draw directly from Hebrew and Greek texts. It was his work and the printing of his translations that lead to his death.
Martin Luther – I gave a personal disclaimer regarding Luther in part one, but history records that Luther would confess for his sins up to six hours a day. While Luther was a perfectionist, most of us have a hard time giving five minutes to examine ourselves and confess!
Charles Spurgeon – throughout his life he preached nearly 3,600 sermons. How many people have we even shared the gospel with?
Corrie Ten Boom – Corrie and her sister Betsie opened their home to Jewish refugees and members of the resistance movement, and as a result, they were sought after by the Gestapo and its Dutch counterpart. Corrie and her family were not Jewish meaning they could have gone free but instead chose to harbor the Jewish people in face of imprisonment, torture, and death.
George Muller – Mr. Muller cared for over 10,000 orphans during his lifetime.
Spiritual passivity that has overtaken the church has made us into people that are not really called by His name. He’s not really the king that we would fight for. I know this may sound offensive, but how many times have you thought in your life that, if the time came I would never deny Him and I would never deny Yeshua my savior, but in all reality some of you cannot even say no to a movie, a T.V. show, the sinful content on your social media feed, or some of the food you eat that is ridden with MSG, Natural Flavors, ETC. Did you know that there are hundreds of chemical ingredients that can be disguised under Natural Flavors or Spices including ‘Pork!’. (More on this to come)
Most, however, will continue to eat the food because the ingredients are an out of sight, out of mind concept. “I cannot see what they are putting in the food, therefore I cannot be held accountable”. These applications do not work in His kingdom, and it doesn’t work for us until our flesh desires it. We claim to love our King and would even die for Him, but yet you cannot say no to the simple things because the world and it’s system has brainwashed us and made us addicted to its ways, while chocking the spiritual life out of us. Why do you think YHWH called His people to come out and be separate.
We cannot combine our love for Him with our love for the world.
No one is able to serve two masters, for either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall cleave to the one and despise the other.
Matthew 6:24
If we allow this to happen then we have lost the single eye, and our heart is no longer in fellowship with Yeshua our Messiah. Our intentions really don’t matter, but what does matter is if we are serving Him.
And that which fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with worries, and riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luke 8:14
It’s the weight of our own wickedness that tends to lead us downwards with great weight towards Sheol. The only thing keeping us from falling is our Father. How quickly would we descend if He were to let go. Our own righteousness has no influence or power to uphold us and keep us out of Sheol.
We read in Exodus 16 below:
And they measured it by omers, and he who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little. Each one gathered according to his need. And Mosheh said, “Let no one leave any of it until morning.” And they did not listen to Mosheh, so some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Mosheh was wroth with them.
Exodus 16: 18-20
YHWH gave Israel manna every day, and the Israelites had no need to worry about food or drink. If they kept manna over until the next day, it would spoil. In the same way, we as disciples must have our portion of the Father every day. A daily walk, self-examination, repentance. If we store up our faith as a one-time decision or action, “I’m Saved”, or “I follow Torah”, we will spoil ourselves and become corrupted.
The journey can be difficult, and at every moment, we risk straying from the right path. However, we must not be afraid to take up our cross and follow it. We shouldn’t fear missing out or not being part of the majority, even when we see millions choosing the easy way. We also need to avoid being overly afraid of ourselves; if we rely solely on our own strength to navigate this road, it will be impossible.
We must keep Yeshua Messiah at the center of our lives and look to Him as our guide in the narrow way. A good tour guide will keep you on the right path, warning you of cliffs’ edges, caves to avoid, and the den of wolves. If we do not heed the words of our shepherd and instead focus only on our fears of danger—looking at the obstacles ahead instead of following the shepherd who leads us—we risk straying from the path. Yeshua, our Messiah, is the way; He is the path we must travel. He is our guide through life and along the narrow path.
Do we hold all of the answers? Do we know every land mine in the path? No, but the amazing thing is that we don’t have to know all of the answers and secrets of this life if we make Him our focus. Seeing the signs of the times Yeshua requires the Kodeshim “The Set Apart” to distinguish themselves from the appearance of Christianity, that is the “religion” of Christianity that teaches Yeshua cancelled the Torah and the reality of walking in the way. When the love of many grows cold there may come a separation we are not prepared for, and we may even find ourselves as the appearance and not the reality leaning on our own eternal security.
Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of Elohim says Yeshua is a curse, and no one is able to say that Yeshua is Master except by the Set-apart Spirit.
1st Corinthians 12:3
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens. We must examine our lives and ask the question; Are we doing the desire of our Father in the heavens?
Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7:14
The dangerous part of the narrow path is that all Christians and all faiths believe they are on that path. It’s an external assumption that if wrong it will cause our downfall, and all of our boasting will not save us on the day of Judgment. You will hear quite often from believers struggling to make sense of this new life and from others who have turned away from it and have gone back to their former lifestyle say, “It was too hard” or “things were too constraining”. The fact being is they are right! “The way is hard pressed which leads to life”. This is not because the narrow way or the Fathers desire for us is so hard that life is no longer enjoyable. This is because of the enemy, because of man, because of sin. The enemy has been deceiving since the garden and his offensive attack is still growing. He has not gone away by any means. He is still very hard at work using our flesh to deceive us.
I become frustrated when I hear people talk about a last day outpouring of the spirit or some great revival that is coming to the church when you see no evidence of that anywhere, believers are falling like casualties in a world war, not because spiritual warfare does not work, but because they are being deceived under their very noses. Scripture actually speaks about a great falling away and about the elect being deceived, but that is not the message being taught because it’s not popular. We have become those with itching ears that heap up teachers for ourselves. The last days move of YHWH is in fact Him calling His set-apart people out of darkness and calling them back into covenant with Him. “To walk in His ways”
Example: for those who have stopped observing Christmas, think back on how many years you thought it was right. You would have argued tooth and nail to prove that Christmas was all about celebrating our savior’s birth. Do you think this is not happening in other areas of our lives? Do we really need a viral You Tube video to tells us “Hey, you need to stop doing this”. Yes, it was hard at first, it was a re-learning of some things, but once you came out, how many said they would never go back.
There are only two paths and only one will lead to life. Your flesh can lead you down a side path and the danger is that you will not even realize it until you can no longer find the path. How many of us know the Ten Commandments, basics like murder, theft, adultery, ETC. Now how many will say I would never do any of those things. Let’s ask the question; Why would you not partake in those sins? Because it’s a sin and being a believer means you are walking in the Fathers ways. This is what being a believer is right? Walking in the Fathers ways, old things have passed away, our former lifestyles, our former sins, ETC and placing our faith in Yeshua the Messiah.
Why then do so many believers watch these very same sins on a T.V. screen or at a movie theater? Why have you chosen to use the very same sins you detest and use them for your entertainment? Don’t become offended at me. Ask yourself the question. Stop and think for a second. Why do you watch these things and then in your mind make some excuse of why it’s okay? You’re watching Sin – you cannot argue with that. You may think it’s okay to watch a ‘Christian’ movie on platforms like Pureflix, Redeemed TV, Dove, ETC.
Ask yourself another question. Just because someone tells you something is Christian or there is a good moral to the story does it make it okay? According to scripture, it’s our fruit that displays one’s set-apart life, not a display of sin. That fact is these things are not Christian. We have been brought up under those things just like Christmas. The people in these films are being deceived by the enemy more and being drawn away by their flesh. Do you want to be watching someone sin when that shofar blasts? Will your excuse be “Well, we were bored, and we needed something to do with our time.” does eternity hang on such a frail reasoning in our minds?
In an effort to correct myself these things are in fact Christian! Why, because ‘Christianity’ is a made-made religion established by the Catholic church. This is proven history, why do you think the Sabbath was changed to Sunday, and believers took on pagan holidays, etc. These are things you can research for yourself, and the evidence is in plain sight. The enemy is not trying to hide these facts from us. You may say, well I don’t do those things anymore, but yes you still do the ‘Christian’ thing. Yes, Yeshua is our Messiah and our savior. I’m not denying that, but what I am saying is the “Christianity” is not “The Way” of the Bible. It’s been altered, modified, and invented. Don’t take my word for it.. do your research. “My people perish for a lack of knowledge”. When you justify in your mind, the Christian movie, music, ETC is only good for the fact that it’s Christian, you’re following the lie. More on this in part three.
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, all your body shall be enlightened. But if your eye is evil, all your body shall be darkened. If, then, the light that is within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23
For some they don’t want to hear messages like this, they give it an ultra-conservative label or will say no command says you cannot watch a movie. You think that reasoning will save you! At your next fellowship gathering wherever you are, ask to give a message on murder and tell all the children that murder is a sin and it’s wrong, make sure to provide examples from passages like Cain and Abel. Then once your message is concluded have some pizza brought in (hold the pepperoni and the Canadian bacon) and settle in to watch some “Christian” movie that displays someone getting murdered. Ask yourself does that make any sense to teach children not to do something and then let them watch it because it entertains the flesh!
How about you adults, we all agree that witchcraft, the occult, sorcery is wrong according to the scriptures. It’s a sin and scripture tells us to have ‘nothing’ to do with it. Great, I’m glad we all can agree on something. After the gathering or this weekend let’s watch a some popular titles amongst believers like Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia. I mean after all C.S. Lewis was a Christian. The fact of the matter is that the decision to participate in sinful entertainment is not based upon the author, writer, musician, or production company. We all just agreed that the scripture is clear about staying away from those things, but now because your flesh has been pricked we will all agree to disagree. The irony of this topic is while believers will watch these titles, they will preach against anyone watching Harry Potter and will be quick to tell others they shouldn’t watch it because it’s witchcraft.
This type of sinful reasoning has taken over Christianity with entertainment, music, clothing, food, you name it. Why? Because the enemy has deceived us. If we have any fear of the Father we will begin to take back control over our flesh. It’s time for the set-apart to begin acting like it and stop making excuses. I know this may be offensive to some, but those will be the true believers! No, we don’t need to be monks and get puffed up by our works, but we do need to live a set-apart life because that is what we our called to do.
